2019 Queer Liberation Rally
None are Free Until All Are Free
June 30th 2019, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m., Central Park Great Lawn, New York City
We will be taking over the Great Lawn of Central Park
Queer Liberation Rally will follow the conclusion of the Queer Liberation March. People can start gathering on the Great Lawn of Central Park as early as 11:00 am.
The Rally will entertain, educate and inspire us with a magnificent lineup of performers and speakers, some amazing art projects and a chance for all of us to gather, relax and hang out with each other.

We still need volunteers to help set up & clean up the rally site!
Things that cannot be brought onto the Great Lawn: (Seriously, please do not bring the list below to the Great Lawn)
Glass bottles, tables, chairs, balloons, pets (except service dogs)
Over sized items like coolers & luggage (nothing with wheels)
Tarps and anything else that is not permeable
Weapons
Drones
RPC Volunteers will be looking at bags at the entrances to the Great Lawn.
Anything else will be fine. We really don’t care what else you have, as long as its not on that list.
Seneca Village, Stolen Land / Shared History: Black & Indigenous Solidarity Social
This closing day event will reflect on the history of Central Park, the space of our rally. Though this land was not owned & has always been inter-tribal, Lenape people lived here and were violently displaced by colonization. In 1825 free Blacks settled the area and established Seneca Village as a free Black community that was later violently displaced by eminent domain. We will also reflect on present-day displacement & gentrification.
What gifts can you share with your community?
In addition to the rally, here are some of the other activities we’re planning on the Great Lawn of Central Park
Picnic blankets : Make or bring a PICNIC BLANKET so those who are marching have places to sit. At the end of the day we will have areas to deposit your picnic blanket to so they can be donated to Sylvia’s Place and other mutual aid groups who help struggling queer & trans folks get settled into new homes.
Activities & performances for the Great Lawn : Be creative! Field games, instruments, performances, activities…. whatever you can dream & lead, the Great Lawn is ours for the day as we gather together for one afternoon in time.
Remember that it our duty to leave the Great Lawn exactly how we found it -- ie, no trash or installations left behind. We will have waste and garbage collection sites around the Great Lawn. Ask us for help if you think you will need it!
Reviving Our Roots
We encourage people to make art, carry photographs, create drag looks & other creative strategies to honor & march with all who helped us reach this historic day. When we arrive at the Great Lawn there will be altar/memorial areas to gather these effigies together for our community to mourn and appreciate, united as souls with those who came before.
